An admittedly strange time of year to be asking this question, but last
year I had grafted a not so vigorous seedless grape onto a large wild grape
volunteer (5 inch diameter at the base) which had draped itself over several
trees. The graft, which has several stems several feet long and has one
bunch of grapes hanging from it, probably represents less than 1% of the
topgrowth of the plant. Next winter, can the vine be pruned back so as to
leave only the graft, or must this be done in stages?
