Dear Nafexers,
The Indian state Himachal Pradesh where I live,
grows apples and is known for it. Apples came here about 130 years
ago.
Nearly all apple orchards here are on seedling
rootstock. But now people want to use clonal rootstocks. Govt
imported rootstocks for distribution to the nurserymen. These were intended to
be used as mother plants for raising more plants but the nurserymen grafted them
and raised apple plants. So there are no rootstock plants. This has
happened 2-3 times.
I would request the list members to
answer the following questions:
Very truly yours,
