The CD is out for the mail today (10-22-08). If you are part of the Sheriff’s office you should not need an MOU, just an establishing order and a table of organization as you would operating as a unit of the Sheriff under their standing orders and procedures. If you are a non-governmental organization volunteering to support the Sheriff you need a very detailed agreement that covers workman’s comp, liability insurance, vehicle operation, chain of command, dispatch, and so forth. There are several documents on the CD that may be of help—there is a mutual aid letter, a fire company’s bylaws and SOG’s, lots of SAR SOG’s and some bylaws from SAR groups. There are copies of draft ASTM standards for MSAR and comments on them.
Also on the CD is a presentation on tracking, a needed SAR skill, and some pictures of equipment used for Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue.
