Good, hopefully I won't get a frost before they finish up....
2 grocery bags of jalapenos ! I think that is way more than my plants
produced and I thought I was drowning in them.......... LOL. Although, I
started mine from seed way late in the season. I don't think I will plant
more than one plant next year if at all, as I'm not used to using hot peppers
much. The amount produced this year is going to last me a long time. And
none of the neighbors wanted any either.
I just made Jalapeno-Chedder crackers. I've never made crackers before, and
I'm not a fan of jalapeno/cheese bread....... But these crackers are superb,
easily addictive. As least I have an outlet for some of the jalapenos now.
I also froze some of the jalapenos, sliced, in addition to all the canned
ones.
Yes, they continue ripening. We've already had killer frost, so my garden
is done. I did get two grocery bags (paper) full of jalapenos. I have some
really "pretty" ones that I'm going to make a rista with. Looks like I'll
be canning peppers and pepper rings for a week <g> All from 6 plants!

OMG !
I can so picture that happening! Whenever I really needed to make sure
something was exactly what I wanted I found I always needed to do it myself.
Meanwhile, my tomato plants have doubled in size with the cooler temps,
little Roma tomatoes all over again. But the temps this week have dipped and
it was only 43 degrees when I woke up this a/m.
Do tomatoes ripen when the overnights are dipping this low?
Daytime temps by the afternoon still a pleasant 70+
My Japanese eggplant absolutely loves the cooler weather. I have ONE plant,
and it currently has 17 eggplants on it, and I just picked 4 off the other
day.
The same thing happened with the Jalapenos. Never in my life did I think I
would be picking off almost 400 Jalapenos off of just a handful of plants,
and they are still covered in peppers.
I planted some zucchini again out of curiosity. They are at the flowering
stage, but I have a feeling my little bee friends have disappeared. At least
I haven't noticed any lately. So will have to hand polinate.
I'm still getting more baby melons and new flowers. They just don't seem to
want to stop producing. The freezers are packed, and I'll have to make
another run for more canning jars.
I've been fortunate that we've been able to pull up water. I know people
about 1/2 mile west have problems from time to time. We had a somewhat
decent rain only 2 times this year now. Of course both times right when I
was getting ready to pick dried beans, so some sprouted.
And I must have missed some of the potatoes in the ground, as I have been
finding potato plants coming up for the past few weeks, Kennebecs and Red
Pontiacs or maybe Puple Vikings, not sure which of the reds ones as they
were mixed together by accident.

LOL! I sent my husband to town for "floral body lotion" and he came back
with unscented mentholated lotion. He thought it meant mint. Now I smell
like a rotten egg smoking a cigarette filter.
