When I married my last husband, he had designed the kitchen for his 6'
wife and his 6' 3" self. I got a kick stool to stand on (I'm 5'6").
It wasn't all that much of a problem to have high counters except for
kneading bread. And he did a lot of the cooking.
Whoever suggested living in the kitchen for a bit to see what you want
had the right idea. In the next year I'm going to re-do my kitchen to
a certain extent, but I rarely cook for crowds, so my needs are
extremely simple.
