<<A friend uses a regular water heater to provide the hot water for his
radiant heat system. Is happy with it, except for the lag time. Are your
pipes in concrete or under a wood floor? Reflective insulation below?>>
At one point we thought of using a water heater as a backup to the wood
boiler, and I don't think it would be all that hard to do now. I have gas
piped to the barn. I have water. The only thing I have to do now is figure
out where the pipes are. Jim was going to do a diagram for me, but I don't
believe he got around to it.
In the meantime, it's been pouring rain all day, and fiddling with the
boiler is right out. I just got home from work, and I'm just not in the mood
to play around with anything in a downpour. I may have lots of time tomorrow
-- NOAA is predicting freezing rain starting at midnight.
