We have the small rolling pin type thingy that really looks like a large
dowl. It is used for flour tortillas. However, most of the women I knew
simply used their hands for the flour tortillas except those living in the
city.
The folks who wrote the thing about *corn* tortillas talked about cooking
and said you could use a press or a cast iron pan. I clarified that the
press is used to "make" the tortillas, NOT cook them.
And all the folks I knew had a wood press for corn tortillas. I don't know
what type wood they were made of, guess I should have asked but it was
really hard wood!
