WikiPedia is sort of a cross between an encyclopedia and yellow journalism,
and much between.
The tie in to B-Hebrew is that if one wants to find out the majority
academic position on many subjects, it is quite good, the failing being that
the majority academic position is sometimes poorly thought out, illogical or
sometimes simply wrong.
On technical subjects such as computers, it’s excellent.
On social subjects, the articles are spotty to poor, and need to be vetted
before linked to on this list. Most articles for B-Hebrew I think would be
among these.
Just because an article is on WikiPedia is not reason to denounce it, but at
the same time, before I give it out as a link, I have to vet it to make sure
it is accurate. I hope everyone else here has the same attitude. With this
as an attitude, I hope this stills knee-jerk condemnation of linking to
WikiPedia, or other off-site articles.
