I don't think it takes very long for most of us to work out which emails to
ignore. Hitting "delete" takes only a second. It has now become automatic
when I see certain names. It works well on any list :)

When someone sends a crackpot idea to b-Hebrew members, people who respond
could change the subject by adding "crackpot idea:" in front of the subject,
then scholars and others would know to avoid the email. This way a lot of
the irritating discussions could be reduced for scholars who don't like them
I don't know if "crackpot idea :" is allowed. Maybe something less
insulting like "non-scholarly idea:" before the subject would help. Or maybe
"mental torture alert:"
Some of the irritating emails would get through to scholars, but maybe not
as many.
