How do you know that the Englich "charm" here means "magic stone"? As for
the Hebrew, there is no reason at all for even xen to mean anything more
than just "a precious stone".

The English word "charm", when used as a count noun, as here (at least
in NIV) because it is preceded by "a", always has magical connotations.
The other, non-magical sense of "charm" as a noun, as in "She had such
charm" meaning "She was so charming", cannot be preceded by "a".
