Out of genuine curiosity, what constitutes a 'misuse' of a CDATA
section? I tend to use them as syntactic sugar to say please don't
obfuscate this particular piece of text with a bunch of '&lt;', '&gt;'
and '&amp;' encodings.


1. The use of CDATA to embed malformed markup in documents which then needs to be parsed (the RSS mistake)

2. The treatment of CDATA as somehow different from non-CDATA encodings of the same information, usually by treating it as some sort of funny pseudo-element (seen in many DOM based apps)
