This morning I noticed a minor bug in 1.0a3. The new GenericEncoder was unintentionally marked public instead of package protected (I blame Eclipse for that.) Consequently I will not be announcing 1.0a3 more broadly. I'll post a 1.0a4 in a day or two after I've hidden it.

However, this shouldn't affect anyone who is using 1.0a3. All your 1.0d25 and later code should still run. I just wanted to warn people not to rely on this new class or write code that calls it explicitly. It will be going away soon. Thanks for your attention.
