hi dina,

you (and others) should check out my friend's radio show on berkeley liberation radio. its called scream queens, its on wednesday nights from 10pm-12am PST, and you can stream it live from http://www.berkeleyliberationradio.net/.

they specialize in "darkwave/electroclash/post punk/punk/noise" bands that are queer, feminist, and have poc membership.

their tumblr, http://screamqueensradio.tumblr.com/ has playlists, bay area show announcements, etc. during the show you can call 510 495 1666 to make requests, give them compliments, or just let them know you are listening.

the show has been a great resource for me in finding new bands, connections, etc.

dicky

The Aislers Set are playing their first West Coast shows in over ten years,
and all three albums are being reissued. Really. Great news for those folks
that like good music. Like you.

Slumberland Records and Suicide Squeeze Records are proud to join together
to re-release all three albums from seminal indie-pop band The Aislers Set.
The albums have been re-mastered and all three will feature new
eco-friendly CD packaging and will be available on vinyl LP for the first
time in at least a decade. Further, the band will play a select set of
shows this Fall, and a new album of singles and rarities is being prepared
for release in early 2015.

"Terrible Things Happen" and "The Last Match" are the first releases in a
projected year-long celebration of Slumberland's 25th anniversary. We're
super excited to make these incredible albums available again, and we're
even doing a limited edition color vinyl run of each for mail order and the
band's upcoming west coast shows only.

Hey folks,

I'm doing a college radio show (KDUR Durango) and it's called Highly
Inflammable (yes, yes x-ray spex ref). It's gonna be feminist
punk/indie/etc. and I'm looking for advice on bands to watch out for.

I've already heard about NOTS (Memphis band) and KNOW they must be on my
show (cf: Layla Gibbons' review in MRR with the Dishrags on the cover).
Coathangers, The Shondes, The She's, Mika Miko (Bleached)....

I already know about like some recent reissues...Neo Boys, Talulah Gosh,
(We've got a) fuzzbox (C86 reissue), Noh Mercy...uhh you get the picture.

I haven't done a show in 12 years so I'm just getting my head back in the
game!

Thanks,

Dina
