The British Library is host to an amazing website of archival sound recordings (http://sounds.bl.uk/) including the ICA talks: "1,000 hours of recordings of events at the Institute of Contemporary Arts, in the Mall, London - made in the period 1981-1994." (http://sounds.bl.uk/Browse.aspx?collection=ICA-talks).
The subject matters discussed reach across the cultural spectrum and there is a substantial section on music worth a good trawl. Some highlights include:

- a discussion from 1984 between Greil Marcus, Jamie Reid (designer of the Sex Pistols' graphics) and Jon Savage on the subject of pop situationism. (http://sounds.bl.uk/View.aspx?item=024M-C0095X0480XX-0100V0.xml)

- an interview with Laurie Anderson from 1990 (http://sounds.bl.uk/View.aspx?item=024M-C0095X0654XX-0100V0.xml)

- a discussion from 1988 between Vivien Goldman, Simon Frith and Jon Savage on "music for pleasure" (http://sounds.bl.uk/View.aspx?item=024M-C0095X0391XX-0100V0.xml)

Enjoy!
Nicole

p.s. By the way, the ICA is sadly under threat of closure (http://www.guardian.co.uk/culture/2010/jan/23/ica-closure-threat)
