It's partly my fault. I haven't rewritten any large sections of code in the
last few weeks ;)

Hi,

Just because Jeremy isn't commenting on the silence I have a few query.
Most of them problems I've put up with for a while but is any one
answers at their finger tip I would be appreciative.

I have just got a P3 laptop and I installed Sourcemage quite easily, it
was the smoothest install I've ever had. Thought recently I have run
into a few minor issues.

1. I'm having trouble with mozilla 1.3. It is hanging when when I make
any keystroke. This problem has appeared recently and happens
intermittently, ie., if mozilla is hanging I can reboot and it might go
away. Currently, I'm trying to drop back to mozilla 1.3a but the
compilation is failing when it ries to compile in the calender. Has
anyone experienced this? I have recently installed acroread with the
plugin for mozilla but have since removed it.

This same problem happened on my previous P4 box and I installed galleon
to get around the problem but galeon was crashing too.

2. I've been wanting to install gnucash, mrproject, gnumeric (1 or 2)
and abiword. Some of these depends on gal and others on gal2, though
both can't exist at the same time. Can anyone explain what is happening
here and how I can get around it?

3. When I log in as a user I can't run pon until root has run it at
least once. Any ideas?

And finally just out of curiosity, is it better to build xfree86 with
the font server or without and just use Xft?

Cheers for any help or enlightenment on these issues.

Duane
