Hi,

I am having problems with printing to a Samsung ML1210 with cups. I had a
working configuration, but I assume a recent update has broken something.

I have cups installed with foomatic and am using the PPD supplied by samsung.
When attempting to print I get the error:

D [02/Mar/2003:15:09:24 +0000] [Job 13] Unknown device: gdi
D [02/Mar/2003:15:09:24 +0000] [Job 13] Couldn't exec foomatic-gswrapper -q
-dBATCH -dSAFER -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=gdi -sOutputFile=- - at /usr/lib
/cups/filter/cupsomatic line 1097.

Foomatic is installed, and foomatic-gswrapper exists. A quick google search
revealed that the gdi device is provided by espgs which is installed.

Does anyone know what is wrong. I haven't changed anything relating to cups.
It just stopped working. BTW i have recompiled all spells in the printer
section just in case...

You might wonna try updating cupsomatic, as the cups-spell does not, or
at least recently did not, update this correctly - (it was placed in
wrong folder) - you can get it at www.linuxprinting.org/cupsomatic (direct
link)

I updated the script, placed it in /usr/lib/cups/filter/cupsomatic and set
permissions 755, restarted cups. However trying to print a test page still
results in the same error as above.
