Dear all,

I am pleased to inform you that Fruitipedia has started attracting a lot of attention.  Everyday over 100 persons are referring to it.

Quite often, I receive enquiries from persons from all over the world for additional information on fruits.  Many times I am not able to answer these queries effectively.  A suggestion has come that there should be names of 1-2 specialists at the end of each chapters whom the readers might contact for information on that particular fruit.

I therefore request you to please offer your services as volunteer fruit specialists for Fruitipedia.

Those who are ready to do it may write me back with their FULL CONTACT details for giving at the end of the respective chapter.

I may also inform the list members that recently the chapters on the following new fruits have been added to Fruitipedia and now 251 fruits are covered:

  • En Cupressus juniperous
  • Ume – Prunus mume
  • Cabelluda – Plinia glomerata
  • Oval kumquat – Fortunella margarita
  • Malaya kumquat – Fortunella polyandra
  • Longan – Dimocarpus longan
  • Bachang – Mangifera foetida
  • Hawthorne – Crategius oxycantha
  • Keleng – Mangifera laurina
  • Round kumquat – Fortunella japonica
  • European dewberry – Rubus caesius
  • Guamchilli - Pithecellobium dulce
In the end I request all of you to write chapters for fuitipedia.  You can even send even material already published in magazines etc. by you during the last 2-3 years.
