[I have a marathon runner friend who eats a vegan diet; he said that when
his running group ate before a marathon a van would drive up, filled with
fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, to feed them.
They ate huge quantities of vegan food before these events. I sat with him
during a meal once and couldn't believe the size of his salad and that he
could hold it all [lots of water. - LL]

This week's episode was sponsored by *Vlatko Primorac*; who had this to
say: *When it comes to a message, I wish I could summarize mine in one
sentence instead of two. Point I wish to make is I went vegan for ethical
reasons, thinking I will be hungry and weak, and got rewarded with being
able to run Ironman races way easier than ever before. Not that I am good
at them, nor do I wish to brag. I simply want to point out there is instant
karma to being ethical vegan. Perhaps I *could* summarize it in a
sentience, after all, ... "Becoming ethical vegan brought instant karma in
form of easier, better, faster Ironman triathlons; that precious little
reward pales in comparison to the feeling of freedom and joy of living a
compassionate, mindful, honest life."*
