The One Straw Revolution:

*The One Straw Revolution* is a seminal book written by Masanobu Fukuoka
<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Masanobu_Fukuoka> concerning his
methods of natural
farming <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Natural_farming> which has been
highly influential with various organic farming and natural food and
lifestyle movements.

Earth User's Guide to Permaculture by Rosemary Morrow is a decent book. It
is more rooted in small-mid size practicality than large scale theory.

iPermie by Bob Waldrop <http://www.ipermie.net/> is a huge detailed
doorstop of an ebook. That said, it's got a lot of overview, a fun short
story, and a lot of stuff that gets out of the "core" permaculture canon
and out into Social Permaculture. He's got a big chunk of the book online
for free, and he has priced it to SELL- he could be selling it for 10x as
much and still be a good value.

Bill Mollison's permaculture lectures
<http://www.barkingfrogspermaculture.org/PDC_ALL.pdf> from a 1981 PDC are a
wonderful way to get acquainted with the man and his ideas.

This article gives some insight
<http://pacific-edge.info/2007/07/a-short-and-incomplete-history-of-permaculture/>
into the who/what/where/when/why/how of Permaculture's early years.
