Want to immerse yourself in hands-on bamboo ???

Join us for up to 3 months for the annual bamboo harvest & build at our
permaculture training farm, Djanbung Gardens, in Nimbin NSW

You will receive on-the-job training and experience in bamboo clump
management, harvest, trimming, treating, curing and storing, use of
specialist bamboo tools, construction techniques, making bamboo screens,
fences and structures, and supporting the annual bamboo workshop. We have
mature stands of a diverse range of excellent building and crafting bamboos

During the internship you can also participate in other activities on the
farm including bottle walling and other construction projects and planting
tropical vegetables for summer. Interns are welcome to join APT class
excursions to permaculture projects and organic farms in the bioregion.

This is a "Work-for-Wisdom" volunteer placement involving 20 hours/week input
in exchange for accommodation and on-the-job training. Additional work hours
can be credited towards participating in other PCA workshops and courses.
Minimum preferred internship commitment is for 6 weeks.

Residential interns have full access to PCA student resources, extensive
reference library and internet (wifi) and will participate in daily rosters
for feeding the animals and watering the gardens.
Interns live in three charming railway carriages as a living learning
community with equipped kitchen and contribute to a communal kitty for meals.

Djanbung Gardens is less than 1 km from Nimbin Village, where you can connect
with a range of community projects, sustainability initiatives, social and
cultural events, visit Rainbow Power Company and local farmer and craft
markets.
