After reading the conversation on viruses, this sprang to mind, and I
thought it was maybe worth a bit of researching, Toby and Lawrence, as
you don't appear to have come across the concept of Salutogenesis -
Antonovsky's approach to creating positive health...

(you could translate this to crop health too, if you wanted to)

I like that. Thanks for posting the reference, Annie. This is the way forward on many fronts, personal health and self-realization, happiness and well-being. I have been thinking along the lines of positive attitude recently and did not know about Aaron Antonovsky
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salutogenesis

I will have to read more about him.

I have for decades been interested in the theories of the proponents of a hygenic diet: Shelton, Ehret and others. Raw foods dieting within a system of food combining for maximum health from maximum nutrition through maximum digestion - maybe comes full circle to meet the hygenicists. Be sure to get adequate protein too. I have written about this in posts to this list with bibliographies. Search the archives with Google - instructions below or in the list homepage.

More on this later.
