I've looked over the pine nut possibilities before. Because of the low
yield, slow growing rate, and long time to seed production, they are not
first choices for food nor timber.

However, for difficult weather conditions and for evergreens in
shelterbelts, they have much to recommend them. I expect to add Korean
Nut Pine to my shelterbelts and look at the Siberian Nut Pine. Does
anybody know if the Digger Pine will make it in Zone 5?
