Question:
What is the consensus of this group regarding whether this list's
message archives
should be open for public viewing or only accessable by subscribers,
i.e. private?
If private, Google cannot search them and access will be subscriber
password protected.
There are good reasons for either mode. Before making any changes I
will wait for a group decision.

A few other things:
The list is currently under full moderation which means that every
post from every subscriber must be approved by the list
owner or moderator. This mode conveniently keeps inappropriate and off
topic posts out of the list and its archives, read: censorship,
thus reducing user unsubscriptions in some cases. There is a case for
and against moderation. What is the consensus of this group
regarding moderation of posts, for or against? Again, I will wait for
group decision before making any changes.

As for the three permaculture ethics principles, many people feel that
they are integral to permaculture and they are probably right,
just as the 10 Commandments are right and good advice. It is a
personal decision. Discussion of these three ethics principles is
appropriate and on topic in this list. [Users who might consider using
this as a ploy and an opportunity to launch into personal attacks,
group attacks,
endless diatribes and rants on political and military issues and
events and dissection of and elaboration on various conspiracy
theories should instead
post on some other topic, simply put.]
