When: January 2-16, 2010
Where: Cape Eleuthera Institute and The Island School, Eleuthera, The
Bahamas (www.islandschool.org; www.ceibahamas.org)
Primary Instructor: Chris Shanks, experienced educator, designer,
horticulturalist, and co-director of Project Bonafide, a research,
education, and demonstration site based in rural Nicaragua.
Some more reasons to come: Gain experience in tropical horticulture, find
practical solutions to the unique challenges of agricultural, energy, and
water systems on an island using regenerative techniques and technologies,
learn and practice real-life design and implementation skills in the living
classroom of the Island School campus. Live in the systems that you're
learning about. And all of this during the dead of winter in most of the
Northern Hemisphere! Cost: $1950, includes housing and delicious meals.
