****The following is a list of short descriptions of the films in the
series:*

*CHICKENS IN THE CITY* by Christie Herring
From a chicken's-eye view of life in the metropolis of San Francisco, this
film examines how keeping chickens has shaped urban eating habits. When is
the last time you looked your dinner in the eye?
(USA, 2004, 8 min)

*MINI CINE TUPY* by Sergio Bloch & Marcos Mota
This delightful short documents a trash gatherer in Sao Paulo, one of
the world's largest cities. He set up a small movie theater made from
materials found in the garbage to show free movies to neighborhood kids.
(Brazil, 2004, 12 min)

*ANCIENT MARKS* by Ethen Boehme
Ancient Marks celebrates the 2,000-year-old ritual of tattooing and
scarification. World renowned photographer Chris Rainier traveled for seven
years to more than thirty countries to capture these rare images that link
culture and the tradition of body marking as a form of
initiation, beauty and highly ritualized ornamentation. This short
features original music composed by Anoushka Shankar, daughter of legendary
sitarist Ravi Shankar.
(USA, 2004, 11 min)

*THE LOST PEOPLE OF MOUNTAIN VILLAGE* by Neal Marlens, Carol Black
Anthropologist Wade Davis calls it 'no less than the most spectacular
archaeological and anthropological discovery of our lifetimes.' When
a lost backcountry skier stumbles onto a monumental complex of
structures – apparently completely uninhabited - the only thing on
which experts agree is that we may never know what really happened to
the lost people of Mountain Village. (USA, 2005, 14 min)

*WATER: A CLEAR SOLUTION* by Beth & George Gage
Drinking water is becoming more scarce and less safe. Every day, a
billion people spend at least three hours fetching and carrying it.
Beautifully shot all over the world, this film examines this problem
and offers solutions - usually low-tech, low-cost, low-maintenance,
and developed at the community level. (USA, 2005, 28min)
