And whose facts and realities should we deal with, yours? Mine?, perhaps
George Bush's.

I'm not sure what you are reaching for in your comment but if philosophy, as
stated in Websters Dictionary, is 1. Love of knowledge or wisdom, 2. A study
of the processes governing thought and conduct; theory or investigation of
the principles or laws that regulate the universe and underlie all knowledge
and reality; included in the study are aesthetics, ethics, logic,
metaphysics, etc. and ethics are, again Webster, 2. Conforming to the
standards of conduct of a given profession as it is not ethical for a judge
to hear a case involving his own interests. Permaculture is a profession.

What does either of these definitions have to do with belief or opinion?
Perhaps you confuse permaculture ethics with the Mosaic ten commandments
which are a set of rules established by an entity speaking from a burning
bush on a desert hillside with a significant number of those rules
concerning humans proper behavior toward the burning bush speaker. This is
a far cry from the simple set of behavioral guides governing permaculture
design. And these permaculture ethics don't threaten one with everlasting
burning or other such punishment for infringement. Though one could say
that global warming indicates a trend toward the burning bit.

It seems to me that if Permaculture is a Philosophy based on Ethics
then belief and opinion are also the basis of Permaculture.

May be we should get rid of ethics and replace with observation, then we
can get rid of beliefs and opinions and deal with fact and reality
