Cut your wheat, use a grass blade, green or with seed.
If with seed you want to get an attachment that catches the cut wheat, can anyone think of its name?

But really don't till it, ay

Its been years since I used a scythe but we used to harvest with a scythe that had wooden fingers behind the blade that was called a cradle. The cradle caught the cut wheat with each swing of the scythe.
