Tuesday September 27 - Introduction to Biodiesel with Kerry McClure
What is this Biodiesel stuff anyway. Join us for a lively 1.5 hour discussion about Biodiesel and how to use it. We will also have information on the new biodiesel coop that is starting here in Phoenix. This class will occur monthly for a while, so if you miss this one look for more info down the road.

Friday September 30 - Fall planting at the Urban Farm
Lets face it, we need to plant and many of you have expressed interest in helping. Come and help us plant out the fall crop. Got any plant starts or seeds you want to plant, bring them along. We will have copies of the fall planting calendar and you can get your hands dirty planting.

Saturday October 1 - First Saturday Tour at the Urban Farm with Greg Peterson
On this First Saturday, come and visit the Urban Farm as we transition to the fall crop, see our progress on what I call the recycled patio, and the rainwater harvesting system. You can attend the tour without attending the Intro to Permaculture.

October 1 - Introduction to Permaculture Day
The day will include:
* A tour of the Urban Farm and the Permaculture principles it is based on,
* An Introduction to Permaculture lecture by Scott Frische,
* Please bring your own lunch to eat at the Urban Farm and pencil and paper to take notes on,
* A community building exercise designed to link Permaculture principles,
* A integrative Permaculture discussion on water harvesting, zones, sectors and how they apply to where you and nature meet,
* An in depth planning discussion about where we would like the Phoenix Permaculture to grow,
* All this for only $40.

Oct 8 - Urban Farm Hurricane Fund Raiser Day
Come and help me clean out the storage yard and make a donation to the Red Cross. I have a plethora of stuff I have collected over the years in my storage yard and now I need the space back. Here is a list of some of the things I have hidden behind the storage wall: barrels, pond liners, a fountain, metal fencing, tables, concrete piping, marble slabs, pots, a potting bench, fill dirt, 4x8 wood panels, screen door, single French doors, PVC, tree boxes and sinks. I will give half the money you donate for these items to the Red Cross for Hurricane releaf (you can even make out a check to the Red Cross so you can use it for your taxes.

Saturday, October 8 and December 3 - Home tour of Don's Permaculture site in Mesa, AKA the Bee Oasis.
Come see an Urban Permaculture in process. Organic Veggie garden, mixed flower garden (with the new urbanite edge), water catchment system, moveable chicken system, top bar bee hive, composting, multi-use areas, fruit trees, bone yard and more. Rain or Shine.

October 18 & November 15 - Fruit Trees in the Desert taught by Greg Peterson.
Learn what fruit trees to plant, what grows well and what doesn't in the desert, the single most important thing you need to know before you buy a fruit tree and more. We will cover apples, pears, stone, citrus, and specialty fruits. Get your questions answered and if you like buy a fruit tree or two.

October 29 - Water Harvesting Class at Don's Bee Oasis
See water harvesting in action. In the morning we will install a 400 gallon cistern collection system and then in the afternoon we will overview water harvesting concepts and practices. You WILL leave this workshop with the ability and resources to install your own water harvesting system.

Saturday, November 5 - First Annual Mesquite Milling at Roadrunner Park Farmers Market
For those of you that have collected Mesquite Beans bring them down to our fist annual Milling at Roadrunner Park. If you don't have beans come on down anyway and see what it is all about. We have all kinds of things planned - more to follow.

4th Annual Buy a Fruit Tree Day
The Day after Thanksgiving will be our 4th annual Buy a Fruit Tree Day at the Urban Farm. This will be your opportunity to see growing trees and learn all that we offer in the fruit tree class. This is also your final opportunity to purchase fruit trees for this season.
