HI Meg and Amrita

There is a monsoon period from September to December in south India, when most rain falls. It would be nice if it is running late this year - buckets of fresh water would be wonderful for refreshing soils.

There is a tropical storm heading in the right direction as I write this.

It may benefit salt affected soils in Sri Lanka, may reach Tamil Nadu....

best wishes

Dennis

p.s. Particular communities can seek support and advice at Nabuur

I have just been circulating this notice locally, someone in this group may be interested:

If you have a little time to look at the internet,
you will find at www.nabuur.com a new concept in people-to-people global citizenship.
Nabuur is linking people in third world communities with ‘virtual villages’ on the internet.
The locals say what they need, the virtual village helps them to find their future.

Nabuur have asked us to help find a facilitator for a new internet ‘village’ in Sri Lanka—someone to guide discussion.

This community, indirectly affected by tsunami, wants advice on these matters:
[1] post-trauma recovery
[2] child health and nutrition
[3] new employment opportunities.
This is quite a large community with enormous history – producing vanilla, lemon grass, organic vegetables, dairy, flowers and aquaculture - but desperately poor.
If you are interested in involvement in any way, contact Dennis Argall dennisargall@bigpond.com
