Would you happen to know if Patrick's last name is Colgan, and/or if he
worked with Papa Gringo doing street medicine for street kids in S.
America many many years ago? Might be a bloke I know...it would fit...

Last I heard Santa Cruz is still gentrifying rapidly, with concommitant
increases in land prices, speculation and "development;" even when I
lived there for a while back in '91, sharing a broken-down old bungalow
a few blocks from the harbor, half the houses nearby had been bought up
and redone to suit the high end of the market.
