Carlos Eire, the brilliant historian and religious scholar from Yale, is being interviewed by Alberto de la Cruz in a series of podcasts about Christian mysticism. These podcasts can be found on babalublog.com

This one is about Julian of Norwich.

At the end of Percy's last novel, The Thanatos Syndrome, a book about people assuming they can perfect society by putting things in the water and having everyone drink from the local wells, and learn to be happy and cooperative with each other, Percy ends the novel with the words, well, well, well. I did not know what Percy meant by doing that. In an effort to try to get some insight I just put the three repeated words on google. Did they mean the wells, simply well, well, well or did they mean three different things? Guess what came up. Julian of Norwich and her famous quote which she claimed to have heard from Jesus Himself in a vision almost as a promise from G-d the Father.

For those who wish, here is the entire podcast on this particular mystic. See what you think. If you read that novel of Percy's is any of this relevant to what Percy was trying to say?
