This sounds potentially intriguing.

Can you please describe what it does in simple (non-weasel) words?

Still, I must weasel out (wuss out, if you will). I have not looked at this
thing
in any detail at all. I hoped that if you thought it might be an important
tool you
or you and Bear would have a closer look or install it for a trial period.
It does sound interesting. Maybe the author woudld be interested in helping
us or
modififying the code to suit our needs. This has been known to happen.
Back in the middle ages I asked the author of Magpie BBS to write a patch for
me
to run a door to another BBS proggy, he did and it worked great: I ran WWIV
within Magpie within
Remote Access under Front Door and Tosscan; all had network feeds. I
discovered the WW author in AT.
Ask Chad what that is.

Different students need different modes of teaching to learn effectively. Although tools currently exist for the evaluation of students' learning styles or psychological types, few tools exist for analyzing the language of the classroom. This software provides an open standard for the coding and subsequent analysis of large amounts of discourse.

WEASEL Words 1.0 combines the capabilities of Perl, databases, and the WWW. It allows researchers to automate the coding and analysis of oral and written discourse by separating each paragraph into individual sentences and applying identification codes to each sentence. These sentences may then be imported into a database for easy manipulation. This database, working in conjunction with a WWW server, can then show the transcription, in context. Each sentence can be individually coded in greater detail.
