Stephanie and others:

Could you all reply to Heide about possibilities for collaboration between
PIW and her group. Maybe collaboration is the wrong term and participation in
the
PIW infrastructure design process is better. I have not replied to her yet
and will wait
to see if anyone here wants to.

Hi Lawrence
Since you are listed as one of the principal movers behind this I
thought I'd write you directly.

How far advanced is the design of this database? Since we first talked
about this 2 or so years ago Gaia College developed an interactive Plant
ID & Culture database for its students, but it has not evolved to the
stage where we could make it available to a broader audience. I also
don't think we have the technical capacity to develop it much further.

I am interested in finding out more about your database and possibly
collaborating with you in the design, with the intent of switching our
students over to your broader collaborative effort. As one of their
assignments our students are required to thoroughly research 5 plants
and enter the info into the database. So far our focus has been on
ornamental plants and ornamental food plants, reflecting of the
interests of our current students.

Cheers, Heide Hermary
