Hi beekeepers, I have a nuc box for sale. The history on these bees is that they were part of larger hive last year. This hive was treated with MAQS (formic acid) in August 2015 and treated again with oxalic acid in early December 2015. In mid-March 2016, this larger hive had a mite count of 3 per hundred, sub threshold for treatment but I went ahead and treated it anyway. Two weeks later (late March), I found several swarm cells and did a split (I posted this on OCBA). I just went into the hive, found her highness and found capped brood, larvae and eggs. These should be very healthy bees. The nuc box is one I made from ¾ inch plywood and is glued, stapled and painted. It’s a deep and comes with 5 frames, 4 are drawn comb with some with honey/pollen and brood, one frame with just foundation. There’s not a huge population but they are working on that. I’d estimate about 2000 bees because I’ve seen packages that hold about 3000 bees and there’s less than that. Price is $150 and you keep everything. Thomas B.
