I think I would place your honey frames on the outside edges since this more closely resembles what the bees would do. Perhaps two on each side of the lower medium to start with and two on each side of the second medium when it's time to add it to the hive. You could intersperse drawn comb and bare foundation in the remaining middle space. Or add just bare foundation and take advantage of the bees inclination to make large amounts of comb this time of year. If you do that, you would place the drawn comb in the second medium when you add it later. Another option for your candy board would be to just melt it in hot tap water (not boiling water). Might try feeding the candy first and if the bees don't seem to be taking it then try melting it. Personally, I have wrapped my extra candy boards in a couple of large trash bags sealed with packing tape and I'll save them for next winter. ______ Walter You never can tell with bees. ~ Winnie-the-Pooh
