The rotary club is asking for a local honey vendor at the upcoming pancake sale.

Keith - can you clarify this thread at the November OCBA meeting and request the local honey donation there as well so it gets in the meeting minutes? I am a little confused about everything but the pancake fundraiser. David Bailey has a local supplier of molasses you could contact.

Also, I am working with the crew putting on the upcoming Pancake Dinner- scheduled for late March.

I wonder if we could find a local honey vendor, and perhaps someone who sells locall produced molasses- and have them at the event with dip sticks made by the shop craft...???
Just thinkin

Thank you, Richard. I’ll cc this info about DECA to Keith. Thanks, too, for the info on the fabric sale. My wife is an upholstery fabric designer and she visits the scrap exchange frequently. (She won Best of show, two firsts and a second in felting at the State Fair this year.) She’ll be in Japan until Nov. 4, so she’ll miss the sale, unfortunately.

You will enjoy Crawford’s book and it’s been in pb for some time now. He recently published another book but I’ve not seen it yet.

Hope to see you again soon.

Best wishes,

carmine

You might know of an organization called DECA that provides high school and college students with training and opportunities to learn about retail business. Seems this kind of help would be much needed by the shop crew at Cedar Ridge now with a great product line and some efforts to move it out into a wider market.

Much as the woodworking and shop craft group, they hold state and national competitions.

I could find no high school close to Cedar Ridge that has such a program-but there is at chapter at NC State- The national web site is and they have a big event coming up in Durham early in 2016.

If you would send this on to Mr. Yow I would appreciate that.

By the way, I dropped a hint on my daughter that the book you recommended would make me a great Christmas present!
