I have replied to him and let him know it could be a wild colony or a beekeeper nearby. He said that he removed the feeder for a few days and they still come back. He wanted to know if someone could come and try to locate where the bees are coming from. Is anyone available to do this?

Thanks,
Becky

Becky:
Thanks for getting back to me.  These are honey bees for sure, I have seen 1 yellow jacket.  I have 4 hummingbird feeders the bees are so thick on them that the birds don't stand a chance.  They chase the birds away.  They get inside the feeders & drown.  They eat out a full feeder in a few hours.
Does this mean there are bee hives somewhere close by?  If I remove the feeders for a few days do you think they will stay away when I put them back??
I so much enjoy the hummingbirds but not the bees.  They do not sting me when I go get the feeders but I have to brush them away to bring the feeders inside.
I was hoping someone could confiscate them for me & take them to a new home.

Beekeepers:  The reason bees (any bees) congregate around the feeder tube of a hummingbird feeder is-----the opening in the tube is TOO LARGE .  Reduce it by using part of a flat toothpick to somewhat restrick the opening.
It works!
Best,
Blake
