These girls bailed out sometime on saturday afternoon. Not sure when, but they were definitely gone this morning. I considered putting a queen excluder between the bottom board and hive body when I hived them but didn't do it. On the upside, I feel like I still have these gentle bees and their genetics in the neighborhood somewhere.

Geneva and I picked up the swarm from the fellow's house in Carrboro
this evening. The swarm had moved into the space between the floor
joists between the 1st and 2nd floors. They had been there less than 1
week. There were 4-6 pieces of comb. We were able to cut some
sheetrock out of the ceiling and use a bee vac borrowed from Jack Tapp
to snatch them. It worked like a champ. I'd say we got over 99% of
the bees and I only saw 3 dead in the bottom of the vac when we got
home. The homeowners got a small batch of some seriously local honey.

Hi Everyone,
I just got a call from a fellow in Carrboro who said that a swarm of
bees has entered his house through an exhaust fan. He thinks it just
happened this past weekend. Is anyone available to go check this out?
Please call me at 919-491-0016 and I will give you his information.
Thanks,
Becky
