I found an interesting article in "Ecology Action Newsletter", August 2007. The info was taken from www.oped-ws.com/articles/3/life_a_peter_de_ (sorry, missing something here from my copy) 0503_please_lord_2c_not_the.htm. Paraphrasing: perhaps the problem is stressed out bees from pesticides, antibiotics, rough transportation in pollinating service, and unnatural sized cells - 5.4mm diameter (which produces a bee that is half again as large as natural) instead of 4.6mm diameter cells.
