Just wanted to remind everyone about volunteering at the NC zoo in
Asheboro. They are looking for volunteers to work at the honey bee
display on Saturdays & Sundays throughout the summer and continuing
each weekend through October. Volunteers should bring their own
bees and an observation hive. If you need to borrow an observation
hive the club owns two and you are welcome to use one. Along with answering
questions and talking about bees, you are allowed to sell honey and other
products. Participants do earn community service credits in the Master
Beekeeper Program. I don't have the specific weekends open, but you can call
Pat Jones at 919-362-7027 and she can let you know as well as answer any
other questions you have.
