taste hundreds of apples, pears, kiwi and grapes. You can order a

Sounds like we mid-Westerners are going to miss out in a very
interesting show. However, the Midwest Fruit Explorers is having
a similar show, without an orchard selling trees. Seems like many
of the good growers are based along the west coast of the USA,
but we have some good sources here in the heartland.

Midfex will also have a large number of fruits to taste at their show
on October 19 and 20 at the Chicago Botanic Garden from 10 am to
4 PM. These are member grown, but the display fruits will only be
available for tasting on Sunday afternoon.

There is a parking fee to get in, but the CBG is worth a visit, in
addition to the Harvest Festival. There will be Midfex/Nafex members
with years of experience to answer your fruit growing questions.
Heritage Apples and juice will be on sale from a nearby orchard. Check
out the details at www.midfex.org.
