I am growing Crimson Passion and Carmine Jewel bush cherries, got them from St Lawrence Nursery five years ago.
Over the years I read several posts that the seeds of CP and CJ were non viable. These bush cherries make nice pies
and are good eating from the bush. They don't all ripen at once and CJ is a week earlier ripening than CP.
The pits I washed in a strainer and packed in moist sterilized potting soil and put in the fridge. The seeds started to germinate
a few weeks ago and I picked and planted the sprouts in my garden window. The germination rate is approaching 50%.
I now have a few dozen seedlings up to 6". I f you or other Nafexers have a south window and would like to try growing
some seeds send an e-mail. It will take several plantings to find out the trueness to seed.
