I noticed that the announcement of this tomato from Nichols said that the
flavor has been improved from the earlier ones. It does sound like a very
healthy tomato with its high amount of anthocyanins.

Nichols nursery said--"There has been a buzz about this breeding program for
some years because the deep purple colored skins and surrounding tissue are
extremely high in anthocyanin. The flavor is quite pleasing, much more so
than early selections several years ago."

Thanks for sharing your experience with this new variety, John. I take it
you garden in Oregon? -- Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn. (USDA Hardiness Zone

Grew this tomato about two years ago when someone shared some seed they had
obtained for trials (no longer remember who). A beautiful small tomato that
was a curiosity and fun to show around, but not very productive for me.
Tasted like a regular tomato. My reaction was that other than the unusual
color, nothing particular about it that stood out. A good garden curiosity
for those with kids (or grand-kids) to generate some gardening interest.
