If you propagate a plant by layering or cuttings, you get exactly the same
plant, genetically. In the case of honeyberries/haskaps, you get the same old
plant that was selected for its superior performance in Saskatchewan, Russia,
or Japan. If your garden is in Saskatchewan, Russia, or Japan, this is good
news.

When you grow from seed, you get different plants, hopefully a diverse
assortment, from which you'll be able to select the plants that do best in
your own garden.
