I just spoke with Lucille Whitman on the phone. Now there is a nice person to do business with. I'm looking forward to getting plants from her. Thanks for the recommendation.

Quoting "Brungardt, Sam" :
Whitman Farms in Oregon sells Hinnomaki Yellow (see http://www.whitmanfarms.com/Product.asp?CategoryID=17&ItemID=651).  I've bought from them in the past.  They provide really excellent bareroot currants and gooseberries. -- Sam Brungardt, St. Paul, Minn. (USDA hardiness zone 4b)

So, I have every last inch of my garden planned out, and everything is perfect, except it took me so long to decide what I'm getting that now all the nurseries I've checked have sold out of 'Hinnomaki Yellow' gooseberry. Does anyone know of a mailorder nursery in the US that still has it?

Well, it's no tragedy if I have to wait until next year. This will teach me to make up my mind faster next time.

Melissa
