I got a japanese seedling plum from Oikos a few years back (5 I would guess) and it has grown very well, not a sign of disease or problems.  It is easily 10+ feet tall and last year it bloomed for the first time.  No fruit were set, though (and I have sufficient pollenators).

Murph,
I've had some of the OIKOS beach plums growing here
for nearly 10 years - not 'Nana', but just straight
species seedlings.  One has been quite productive,
and low-growing - not more than 4 ft tall, but it's
on the property line, and the neighbors re-worked
their septic system a couple of years back, and it
has drowned out.
The other one has been much more vigorous, but has
never fruited.  No black knot on either, minimal if
any brown rot.
However, my take on the fruit is that they're not all
that great - small, mostly pit, with only a small rim
of tart pulp surrounding them - kinda like a large
Nanking cherry.
