I have heard of a few local fruit groups doing some work of this kind but not
with this organization. MidFEx did some at the Chicago Botanic garden but
mostly weren't listed to if I have the story straight. I know that some
school groups helped planting pawpaws for the paw paw variety trials but
except for the help from master gardeners that didn't go well. The kids were
more interested in watching the opposit sex than planting things well and the
organizers said that they would not do that again. The chapter of California
rarefruit growers that maintains and plants an exotic fruit collection in a
park in San Jose seems to be going well. I think that they planted, labeled
and maintained it over many years.
