How odd, stevia has been used for centuries with no
toxic effects yet the EU bans it. It's legal in Japan
and has been used for almost 30 years with no
problems. On the other hand, numerous problems have
been reported with aspartame, including brain tumors
and deaths, yet it is legal in the EU. There is far
more evidence for aspartame toxicity than for stevia
toxicity.

If you want to know why some substances are banned and
others are allowed, just follow the money. Oddly
enough, products supported by huge corporations which
spend tons of moneys on politicians alway seem to make
it to market. On the other hand, products like stevia
which have no large corporate backing are banned. In
the US at one point even books on stevia were banned.
Think about that for just a minute, a book on a sugar
substitute was banned in a country that claims to have
freedom of the press. How was that ever allowed and
who would benefit from a book about a sugar substitute
being banned?
