24D is highly recommended for application to any broadleaf plant you
wish to "liquidate". Grapes have very broad leaves and 24D is a
favorite for exterminating them.

If you are very careful (if that is possible) you might try it for a
few small patches of very tough plants. 24D is quite volatile and even
the fumes can have a noticeable effect on grapes. Perhaps if your
fruit trees were quite large and quite aged they might survive an
accident better than young trees.

Moral of the story. If you don't like your fruit trees spray freely
around them. It can be done safely, but be very, very careful (that's
an Elmer Fudd quotation) and don't do it on a real windy day. It's
best if a slight breeze is blowing the fumes away from your trees.
Good luck. Be sure to let us know the results should you try it.

Roundup (which has lots of other names) only effects plants when it is
sprayed on their leaves so it is much safer. Unfortunately it pretty
much kills any plant it is sprayed upon.

Lucky me. I have no Japanese beatles........
