where did you get yours from? the st lawrence catalogue does not mention that they are a cross. it calls them an "old" variety.

Hi there,

I have them growing, but have yet to have fruit. From what I understand, they are a cross between a sandcherry (Prunus besseyi) and a regular nanking (Prunus tormentosa). What I've read is that they are a little bit bigger and sweeter. We'll see next year if reality is the same as what the catalog states. I also have a few white nankings as well, although I'm not sure if it is a mutation or some other cross.
